Peter Pan is one of the two remaining pieces from Sadkin’s 2016 NYC Toonology solo show. Toonology is an exploration of what is recognizable and what is not. The artist removed the faces of cartoon characters to entice the viewer to ask questions about themselves. In Peter Pan, Sadkin questions “What is a grown-up anyway?” Peter pan represents the child in all of us as we have to stand up to our responsibilities unwillingly. “I have to fight captain hook and do my taxes…”
